Ángel Ricardo R. Ríos

Holguín, Cuba , 1965

Ángel Ricardo R. Ríos, Holguín, Cuba, 1965. Cuban artist based in Mexico since 1991. He completed his professional studies in Cuba, passing through three levels of plastic arts education: since 1981 he has attended the Elementary School of Plastic Arts, in 1984 he entered the Middle level at the San Alejandro School of Plastic Arts, and in 1989 he joined the Higher Institute of Art. His work has received distinctions and recognitions in the Mexican cultural context, of which Ángel Ricardo Ríos is a part and from where it is projected to spaces in Europe and North America.

The artist expresses the culture of excess through his visual arts, with paintings that are wasted between the canvases, he is not afraid to mix shapes and colors by moving with centrifugal movement between the figurative and the abstract with large-format pieces: a scandalously seductive intention, through the stimulating and corporeal quality of the material.

Strawberry icecream with macarrone

Huitlacoche y almohadas rosas

Abridor de vino con intenciones naranjas

Sin prejuicio del rosado

Detalle de una obra pintada por Freud
