Elena Gómez Toussaint was born in Mexico City, 1964. She studied painting and drawing at ˝La Esmeralda˝ and at L´Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, France. She has participated in various workshops with artists such as Betsabé Romero, Alfonso Mena, Gabriel Macotela, Carla Rippey, Magali Lara and Roberto Turnbull. Her work has been exhibited in Mexico, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Ireland. Among her artistic activities, the creation of costumes for the play obra "Egmont˝ (National Theater Company 2009), for the play ˝El Jardín de los Cerezos Compañía (National Theater Company, at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, CDMX, 2001) and for the Opera ˝Rigoletto˝ (Teatro Bicentenario, León Guanajuato 2013, Palacio de Bellas Artes, CDMX 2014). Her work has been selected in the Diego Rivera Biennials (1994), the José Guadalupe Posada Engraving Biennial (1995), the Monterrey FEMSA Biennial (2001), the Alfredo Zalce National Biennial (2011).
