SOS

Angélica Omaña, Roberto Bear, Sebastián Dávila, Stefanie Schikora, Jorge Moedano

As the years have passed, our planet Earth, our only spaceship, has suffered a deterioration of all its ecosystems and the species that inhabit it, caused mainly by Homo sapiens (in Latin “the wise man”).

At present, the alteration of the pre-existing natural order designed for our survival is notorious, in which its destruction awaits humanity in the not too distant future, since the earth as a living being does not need us, however we do need it. A series of events have been unleashed on the planet that will test our existence and that is why this call for help was born from the walls of this enclosure that today houses a set of works that make us see that what is currently happening in the planet and others that, like prophecies, show us an uninspiring future.

Throughout these last decades, the accelerated and excessive consumption of the wise man is destroying all the organisms and natural resources that were given to him; The way we consume will define the future of the planet we live on. Next, this visual journey loaded with a profound message calls us to reflect and look within ourselves to ask ourselves: What are we doing as a society and as human beings? Faced with an environmental problem addressed by forty-eight artists who reveal an SOS from the depths of their being, under the premise of sustainability, in order to give a common message, but who at the same time show us a personal and conceptual vision with which they created their works.

We call ourselves “Homo sapiens” boasting of possessing wisdom, but will that wisdom lead us to a change of course? Or will we run out of time to stop what is already imminent? Without a doubt, the SOS message summoned by Mario Torre, director of the Secret Gallery, will reach the conscience of many human beings who are subject to the same gravity despite their different beliefs, in order to conserve our species and everything. what surrounds us.
