Jaime Barrera

He is a civil engineer by profession, graduated from the Autonomous University of Yucatán.

He has been a professor and director of culture at the Autonomous University of Yucatán and director of culture at the Mérida City Council 2001-2004.

He has exhibited his plastic proposals on more than 30 occasions in the main museums and galleries in the cities of southeastern Mexico. Self-taught painter who has ventured into the field of visual arts since 1995. At the VIII Biennial of Visual Arts of the State of Yucatán in 1999 he was awarded first place in the abstract watercolor technique.

Currently he has created a company called “Contempoarte” for the creation of paintings, sculptures and object art that harmonize with the contemporary architectural environment; His works can be found in the Cancún and Sun Palace and Isla Mujeres Palace hotels in the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico, and in the Moon Palace Spa and Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
